Communicating with the Media
Every day, stories about Rutgers’ innovative people, research, and initiatives are shared widely across the media landscape—on news sites, social media, video channels, and in print. Media coverage is essential to the public’s understanding of the mission of Rutgers, a leading national research university and the state of New Jersey’s preeminent, comprehensive public institution of higher education. Communications specialists across the university are available to provide guidance on how to tell your Rutgers story and work with the media.
Policy for Working with News Media
University News and Media Relations coordinates the dissemination of universitywide news and information and collaborates with chancellor-level university communications teams, which serve as the primary campus media spokespersons and are primarily responsible for producing external campus communications for the news media. University News and Media Relations should be consulted regarding all significant universitywide issues. Contact chancellor-level communications offices regarding campus-specific issues.
